For our special Jinling Elite members, Jinling Parties held Lantern Night festival February 12, 2006, in Purple Mountain Ballroom (Jinling Hotel Nanjing). So far, all of Jinling Parties (Jasmine Night and Moon Night) have been a huge success.  Jinling Parties provides an opportunity to exchange, socialize and share traditional Chinese holidays with members here and abroad.

 

Original intent of this Chinese holiday is gathering families together while marking the end of Spring Festival (full moon to full moon).  Jinling Parties updated this practice to the delight of everyone attending.  It was a festive, impressive yet informative experience with many never experiencing this holiday before.

 

Exquisitely decorated by 60 brightly lit Chinese lanterns, a warm glow was cast on the evening's event.  Delicious, traditional food was served in elegance.  Chatting while tasting delicacies under dimmed lights, music played softly in the background.  As the live show began, booming drums heralded a program of Chinese folk music, ancient poems and traditional dances with modern interpretation.  Girls performed with long, flowing sleeves waving to the beat of pounding drums, hypnotizing the crowd.  This provided an entirely new format for celebrating this tradition.  Jinling Parties retained reverence while adding their own style of class and sophistication.  Nothing was overlooked in order to truly create a magical, memorable event for all attending.      

 

Jinling Elite members expressed appreciation and gratitude to Jinling's ability to impart Chinese culture and customs in ways so easy to understand (and in such a festive manner!).  Jinling Parties both entranced and educated their guests.

 

Mr. Bjorn Bostrom, President of Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communications Company Ltd told us he always enjoys himself at these parties!.  Mr. Massi, President of Fiat Auto said that he also enjoys the parties thrown by Jinling. He complimented decorations, performances, and warm atmosphere for providing a very festive event. He especially enjoyed the sticky rice balls floating in soup, calling them special and delicious!. Mr. Leatherwood, Senior Staff Engineer of DSM Chemicals North America, Inc. loved everything, especially the Chinese drums. Eagerly invited to play these drums solo, he was grandly applauded by the crowd.  Chinese lanterns dimmed but the memories will live on forever as Jinling Elite members discovered the true meaning of this holiday with an updated version, courtesy of Jinling Parties.
